dvd home theater, notebook computerI don’t know who my roommate was listening to this morning while he made breakfast but it was funky. I’m talking about some 1970, distorted guitar riffs with a lot of soul. Both of us are huge audiophiles. Over the years, I’ve sampled and collected a great amount of music. My roommate took our musical obsession to the next level when he came back with a record player. It was newer so we quickly had it connected to the DVD home theater. Now he has been digging through local record shops pulling out all sorts of gems. One of them was this old school collection of 70s funk. I did not expect to start my day to that kind of music playing over the DVD home theater.

I do understand why that type of music got popular four decades ago. Funk is still a jam. I look at it as the early electronic phase that is really starting to blow up right now. They were making sounds with their instruments producers today craft on notebook computers. Great music is just great for the soul.
